Subhumans back on tour

Subhumans are back once again to show us all what punk is really about this summer with plans to rain anarchy not only in the UK, but Europe as well. With just a few UK dates left and one in Prague there’s still time to catch them. And what with the Citizen Fish dates coming up in November….my my how those boyos are spoiling us!

Amongst their appearances, they’ll also be playing at Rebellion Festival so you can overdose on all kinds of rambunctious punk antics.

William Elliott Whitmore’s mammoth tour

Our old compadre William Whitmore is on the road again.  A new batch of tour dates just added to Mister Whitmore’s site seem to suggest some form of musical pilgrimage is afoot. With just shy of 30 dates between now and November he’ll be roaming from the East to the West coast as well as a fair few places in between. The latter half of the tour will see support coming from the Oklahoma songstress, Samantha Crain, rounding up with an appearance at the Harvest Music Festival in November.

For those of you lamenting this huge US tour and lack of European dates, William will be coming over to the UK to play at the End of the Road festival at the end of August – so we suggest you get yourselves along to that!

There’s also plenty of WEW goodies including t-shirts and some rare vinyl over in our webshop.

The Vortex – 27th June

Penny Rimbaud’s Last Amendment presents Reason Veils the Absurd. Following a five year recluse in the metaphorical woodshed, Rimbaud returns to the Vortex on a quarterly residency feeling ‘none the wiser and all the better for it’. Expect a heady mix of musings, magnificence, nonsense, improv, outprov, fusion, confusion, poetry and jazz. Standing (and oftimes falling) at the forefront of the neo-romantic avant-garde, Rimbaud is joined this evening by co-conspirators Eve Libertine (vox), Charles Webber (signal generators), Louise Elliott (sax’n’flute), Kate Shortt (cello), Jennifer Maidman (bass), Gene Calderazzo (drums) and Gee Vaucher (visuals).
